This skill set is a comprehensive course covering all the aspects of HLTAID001 Provide CPR, HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support, HLTAID003 Provide First Aid, HLTAID006 Provide Advanced First Aid, HLTAID007 Provide Advanced Resuscitation as well as HLTAID008 Manage first aid services and resources. The HLTAID008 unit provides participants with the skills and knowledge on how to set up and manage a first aid room and run first aid services within large organisations such as mine or construction sites.

The Occupational First Aid course is especially designed for high risk work sites with more than 100 staff in attendance and where a first aid room is required under the various state / territory Safework authority legislation.

Only basic numeracy and literacy skills are needed to attend this course. Access to a computer with internet, as well as basic computer skills is required for completion of this unit

There is theory and practical assessment to ensure that the participant has gained the required knowledge and confidence in the skills covered in the unit. You will be required, as per the Training Package, to complete 2 mins of CPR on a CPR manikin. Participants will also be required to demonstrate various practical skills including application of slings, use of various additional first aid equipment etc. A high level of competence is expected in all aspects of this unit to successfully complete the unit. Skills in research and understanding workplace policies is also required

HLTAID001 Provide CPR and HLTAID007 Provide Advanced Resuscitation refresher is recommended annually and HLTAID006 Provide Advanced First Aid at least every 3 years

Face to face training is 2 days plus recommended pre-course learning including on-line CPR videos 

It is strongly suggested you view the videos on CPR found on our website as well as reading the first aid book which is also available on our website
