Level 2 Sports Trainer course
This is a 2 day course ( plus pre / post course portfolio ) design for people with a passion for sport who wish to gain the Level 2 Sports Trainer qualification. This course is recognised by most major sporting organisations.
Courses are available throughout Sydney, Newcastle and the Central Coast.
The Level 2 Sports Trainer course includes several Nationally Recognised units of competency. These include:
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
- HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid and oxygen therapy
- HLTAID015 Provide Advanced Resuscitation
- PUAEME007 Provide emergency care for suspected spinal injury
- and AFL Emergency Response Course if selected
Recognition of Prior Learning
RPL may be available for the units contained in this course however fees will be involved with assessment of the RPL

Target Audience
This unit is designed for those who wish to elevate their current Sports Trainer qualifications to the next level. Participants need to hold a valid Level 1 Sports Trainer qualification ideally with Nationally Recognised units of competency. Nationally Recognised units of competency provide a good bench mark for knowledge and skills
It is suitable for most sports. Before attempting any Sports Trainer course with any organisation you should check with your specific sporting code – not all sporting codes recognise all Sports Trainer courses. However they will recognised all the Nationally Recognised units of competence that are embedded in the Sports Trainer courses.

Course Requirements
Numeracy and literacy skills are needed to attend this course, a self assessment for LLN is available on our website or you can contact us directly if you have any concerns. Access to a computer with internet capability is required to complete the online learning module – as is also basic computer skills eg ability to open files, web browsers etc, using ideally the latest version of CHROME as your web browser. . Completion of this unit does require the student to be able to get onto the floor to perform CPR – this is a licensing requirement of the unit.
If you have ANY special needs ( eg, language / literacy / numeracy difficulties, physical disabilities etc ) that you think may impact on your ability to complete this training please let us know prior to enrolling.
Completion of the post course assessments is required within 12 months
Pre-course study
It is required that you view the videos on CPR found on our website as well as reading the first aid book which is also available on our website. There is also an additional online learning / assessment module which must be completed prior to attending the face to face course
Assessment requirements
There is some theory and practical assessment to ensure that the participant has gained the required knowledge and confidence in the skills covered in the unit. You will be required, as per the Training Package, to complete 2 mins of CPR on a CPR manikin. Participants will also be required to demonstrate various practical skills including application of slings etc

Recertification requirements
CPR refresher is recommended annually and Provide First Aid at least every 3 years. We suggest that the taping is refreshed at least annually unless it is being practised regularly.
