Vital First Aid is excited to announce it has been endorsed by the Australian Football League (AFL) to be one of the preferred providers of Emergency Response Coordinator (ERC). Created and endorsed by the AFL, the ERC course is an accreditation all trainers working in Australian rules football across the country must hold. VITAL FIRST AID has been chosen by the AFL as a main supplier of ERC course.

The three-hour course provides an introduction for potential sports trainers looking to work at the community level and covers important topics such as; emergency planning, concussion management, on-field communication and transporting an injured participant.

While the accreditation is the standard across all levels of the AFL, the course is especially tailored for trainers working at junior football clubs.

Head physio of the AFL, Nick Ames says safer sport is a priority of the AFL and with VITAL FIRST AID and the ERC accreditation, participants can be certain qualified trainers will always be on the sidelines.

“The Emergency Response Coordinator position is an extremely important role at all Australian Football events. This training structure will support associations, clubs, teams and volunteers to guarantee qualified coordinators are part of their organisation.”

The Vital First Aid ERC course can also be delivered with the full Provide First Aid and basic taping course (* HLTAID003 Provide First Aid and SISSSPT304A Tape ankle, thumb and fingers ) to give a fantastic skill set for those wanting to provide quality care and assistance to players.

Cost for the 3 hour ERC course endorsed by the AFL is $80

Cost for the ERC course combined with full Provide First Aid and basic taping* is $140

On-site courses can be conducted with a minimum of 10 participants
